Child Custody Evaluations

I have completed the education and training requirements pursuant to the California Rules of Court 5.225.

An evaluator becomes part of the child custody process when a family’s own attempts to resolve a custody dispute has reached an impasse. When a court orders a child custody evaluation, an evaluator assists the court in investigating and recommending a clear and detailed parenting plan that is in the child’s best interest. There is no empirical research that indicates that one particular parenting plan is best. As such, the evaluator maintains objectivity and gathers balanced information from both parties and collaterals and controls for bias.

Custody evaluations can be a very difficult time for families. I strive to bring families thorough and impartial evaluations tailored to their specific needs. My goal is to provide an unbiased assessment of each family’s dynamics, ensuring fairness in the evaluation process. This involves interviews, observations, and assessments of both parents and children, along with extensive contact with collateral sources and a detailed review of relevant documentation.
